Workshop of Whimsy

ONLY One Space Left!

November 5th through 8th 2024

We both know that being a performer isn’t always glamorous – it takes grit, determination, and a whole lot of creativity to make it in this industry.

As entertainers, we’re constantly brainstorming new concepts, characters, and routines. But how do you know which ones are worth pursuing?

We’ve all had our fair share of ideas that sounded brilliant in theory but flopped in practice. There is only one path to sort this out effectively:

  • Aspire to Improve
  • Seek Professional Guidance
  • Have Authentic Practice Sessions
  • Embrace Feedback

We have to master observation, pay attention to the little details – the smiles, the laughs, the moments of silence. We have to breathe with ease and at the right time.
That’s why I created the four day Workshop of Whimsy!

  • Connect with an audience
  • Upgrade your stage craft
  • Invest in Practice
  • Refine your performance skills
  • Complete two 1:1 reviews with the director

This is going to culminate in a showcase at a vibrant family cabaret venue, where you’ll have the opportunity to perform before a welcoming audience.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll master the essential techniques of engaging with your audience, fostering genuine rapport, and maintaining their interest throughout your performance.

Additionally, we’ll share invaluable insights on effectively collaborating with volunteers, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all involved.

All you have to do is come prepared with a family-friendly act of your choice that you’re eager to refine and showcase.

Your performances will be recorded for you, providing you with valuable footage for your social media platforms and promotional endeavors.

Join us for a transformative experience where you’ll hone your skills and shine on stage!

“Having a stranger critique your show can be an unnerving experience. It’s a little like letting that person see you naked – warts and all.

“Our show isn’t just a collection of magic tricks. It’s a very personal creation. It’s an expression of who we are and how we see ourselves.

“Having just gone through this process with Danny Schlesinger, I can tell you that it was an inspiring and affirming experience.

“As a veteran entertainer, Danny shares a wealth of ‘real world’ insight and appreciates the unique challenges of being a working performer. He genuinely wants to help performers become more authentic and entertaining.

“Best of all, he listens well, is very personable and really easy to talk to.”
